Kolata, April 15 -- A former councillor of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, Nirmal Dutta, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly intimidating voters from a street corner meeting, a senior police officer said.
Dutta was nabbed at Duttabad on the fringes of the posh satellite town of Salt Lake (Bidhannagar).
Dutta was arrested by a team from the Bidhanngar South Police station after a purported video of his alleged remarks at a street corner meeting became viral.
In the video, whose authenticity UNI has not ascertained, Dutta could be seen saying in his address: "Nobody will vote for anybody apart from us. We have an app (mobile application) where we can see who votes for whom. If we find that anyone from the area has voted against ...
