Kolkata, May 13 -- Former president of city soccer giants Mohun Bagan and ex Rajya Sabha member Swapan Sadhan Bose, popularly known as Tutu Bose, died in a private hospital here on Tuesday night following a cardiac failure.
He was 78.
Club sources said that Bose suffered a massive heart attack on Monday evening, after which he was hospitalised and put on ventilation support. He perished late on Tuesday night.
Bose served as Mohun Bagan secretary from 1991 to 1995, and then as club president till 2018. He was elected secretary in 2018, then became president again from 2020 to 2022, and finally from 2023 to 2025.
He was elected to the Rajya Sabha as a Trinamool Congress candidate in 2005 and served till 2011.
