Tura, March 15 -- Former Meghalaya MLA, John Leslee K. Sangma, today sought arrest of former Phulbari MLA Esmatur Mominin in connection with the recent violence that left two people dead and several others injured in West Garo Hills district.
This is the second FIR (first information report) against Mominin after Leader of Opposition in the Meghalaya Assembly, Dr. Mukuk Sangma had sought legal action against the former legislator for promoting 'disharmony among groups in the run-up the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections.
In an FIR lodged with the Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills, Tura, John sought "immediate arrest" of Mominin, who he alleged was "solely to be blamed for the suffering of both the communities...
