Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Aug. 3 -- A Special Court for CBI Cases at Kurnool on Monday convicted the then Assistant General Manager (Air Traffic Management) and Officiating Airport Director of Kadapa Airport in a corruption case registered by the CBI's Anti-Corruption Branch, Visakhapatnam.

The court convicted Mukundagiri Rangachari Srinivasan in connection with a CBI trap case and sentenced him to three years' rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 30,000 under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, the Agency said in a release here.

He was also awarded two years' rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 20,000 under Section 7 of the Act. Both sentences will run concurrently.
