Shimla, March 16 -- Former Himachal Pradesh High Court Judge Surinder Singh Thakur passed away on Monday at his native place in Rajgarh, District Sirmaur.
His cremation was conducted later in the day. As a mark of respect, proceedings in both the Himachal Pradesh High Court and local District Court were suspended for the day.
Born on September 23, 1951, in Rajgarh, Justice Thakur completed his graduation from Panjab University and obtained his law degree from D.A.V. (Post Graduate) College, Dehradun (Meerut University) in 1973. He began his legal career the same year, practicing in civil, criminal, and revenue matters.
