Palampur, Aug. 2 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shanta Kumar expressed deep grief over the demise of former Chief of the Indian Army, General B.N. Sharma, describing him as an outstanding military leader who made a historic contribution to the Indian Army during his tenure as the 14th Chief of Army Staff.
In a condolence message, Shanta Kumar said General B.N. Sharma was the younger brother of Major Somnath Sharma, the first recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest wartime gallantry award.
