Chandigarh, Aug. 19 -- Former Indian cricketer Manpreet Singh Gony has joined the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, bringing a familiar sporting face into the party's political camp as preparations begin for the 2027 Assembly election.
Gony joined the party in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. International gold medallist Kunar also joined AAP at the event.
The former fast bowler did not announce any specific political assignment. He said he was ready to take up whatever responsibility the party gave him and would work with "full honesty and hard work", according to the material provided.
