Jehanabad, May 12 -- Former Bihar Minister and senior socialist leader Bagi Kumar Verma passed away late Monday night during treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He was 77.
A resident of Jhaman Bigha village under Makhdumpur block in Jehanabad district, Verma had been suffering from prolonged illness and was undergoing treatment at AIIMS for the past several months. He was the son of noted socialist leader Upendranath Verma.
Leaders of various political parties, social activists and his supporters described his death as an irreparable loss to regional politics.
