Kolkata, June 17 -- Former West Bengal Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Udayan Guha was arrested here on Wednesday for alleged corruption and fraud.

Police sources said Guha was apprehended from his flat in the Phoolbagan area of North East Kolkata. He was subsequently taken to Phoolbagan police station for legal formalities.

Guha is being taken by road to Cooch Behar in north Bengal, where he would be produced before a court on Thursday..

Additional CP Crime Kunal Agarwal mentioned that Guha has been arrested under Sections 406, 409, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) registered at Dinhata Police Station, involving allegations of fraud related to 'cut money' under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' since 2016.
