Kolkata, July 9 -- A team from the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate searched the New Town flat of former Rajganj Block Development Officer (BDO) Prashanta Barman, the prime suspect in the abduction and murder of a gold trader whose mutilated body was recovered in New Town last year.
Senior police officers said the search was carried out late on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigation into the killing of 45-year-old gold trader Swapan Kamilya, a resident of Duttabad on the outskirts of Salt Lake.
The team of investigators included forensic experts, personnel from the cybercrime division, and officers from the Detective Department, Bidhannagar Commissionerate sources said.
