Chandigarh, Aug. 11 -- The BJP has added a former Bathinda Rural legislator and a group of local political figures to its Punjab organisation, with Darshan Singh Kotfatta joining the party along with several village-level leaders and former elected representatives.
Kotfatta's entry was announced in Bathinda on Tuesday in the presence of Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon, former Bathinda Lok Sabha candidate Parampal Kaur Maluka and other senior party leaders. The move gives the BJP a fresh set of local faces as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the next Punjab assembly election.
