Nagpur, May 1 -- Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister for Nagpur and Amravati, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, on Friday urged citizens to actively take part in the upcoming census, clarifying that only Indian residents will be eligible and foreign nationals, including Bangladeshis, will be excluded from the process.
Addressing a press conference after attending the Maharashtra Foundation Day flag-hoisting prograame, Bawankule touched upon a range of issues including the upcoming digital census, infrastructure growth, agriculture and public welfare.
Highlighting India's push towards digital governance, he announced that the eighth census since Independence will, for the first time, be conducted in a fully digital format.
