Bhubaneswar, Aug. 20 -- The Odisha government has intensified its crackdown on food adulteration in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, with enforcement teams seizing 71 quintals of suspected adulterated paneer worth Rs 17.75 lakh and 66 kg of stale and unhygienic food during raids over the past two days.
The intensified drive followed directions from Food Safety Commissioner Poma Tudu, with joint enforcement teams conducting raids and inspections at multiple locations across the twin cities.
In Cuttack, a joint team of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), led by Health Officer Dr Nupendra Satpathy, seized around 71 quintals of suspected adulterated paneer valued at Rs 17.75 lakh during raids on August 18 and 19.
