Kalaburagi, June 12 -- Five girl students were seriously injured after a portion of the roof of a classroom collapsed at a Government Pre-University College for Girls in Kalaburagi city on Friday while classes were in progress.
According to police, the incident occurred during an Accountancy class for second-year PUC Commerce students. More than 80 students were present in the classroom when a concrete section of the ceiling suddenly gave way and fell on them.
The collapse triggered panic among the students, who rushed towards the exits to save themselves. In the ensuing chaos, several students sustained minor injuries, while five girls suffered serious injuries after being struck by falling concrete debris.
