Anantapur, April 15 -- Five persons were killed and 21 were injured, six of them critically, in an explosion that took place in a house at Kummaravandlapalli village of Kadiri mandala of Sri Satya Sai district on Wednesday.
Police said that a labourer was supplying gelatin sticks for mining activity. He had a large number of gelatin sticks in his house, which accidentally exploded. The impact of the explosion was so massive that the house in which the detonators were stored was reduced to the ground, while five houses nearby were also badly damaged. Four people were killed instantaneously, while another died while being taken to the hospital.
