Shimla, Feb. 24 -- The union Home Ministry has upgraded five officers of the Himachal Pradesh Police Service (HPS) to the Indian Police Service (IPS), inducting them into the state cadre under the 2023 and 2024 select Lists.
According to a notification issued on Tuesday by the Ministry, Virendra Kalia, Bhupinder Singh, Naresh Kumar and Vinod Kumar have been inducted into the IPS under the 2023 select List, while Shamsher Singh figures in the 2024 select List.
All five officers will undergo a one-year probation under the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954, and complete the prescribed induction training. Their appointments take effect from the date of issuance of the notification.
