Kolar (Karnataka), Aug. 19 -- Shaurya Bhattacharya turned a difficult start into a stunning fightback, reeling off five consecutive birdies to fire the best round of the day and stretch his lead to three shots at the halfway stage of the Kolar Open here on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Delhi golfer, who began the second round with a one-shot advantage, slipped to one-over through his opening seven holes on the demanding ZION Hills Golf County course.
But Bhattacharya refused to let the setback derail his round. Trusting his ball-striking and remaining patient, he launched a remarkable comeback with a birdie on the 17th, followed by four more in succession through the 18th, first, second and third holes.
