Panchkula, June 30 -- Haryana Police have arrested five suspected arms traffickers and seized a cache of illegal firearms during a special drive against organised crime in Karnal district, a police spokesperson said on Monday.

Acting on specific intelligence, the CIA-1 unit of Karnal police intercepted the suspects near Ring Road close to Kutail village on June 29, recovering eight pistols, 30 live cartridges and a Maruti Celerio car allegedly used in the crime, the spokesperson said.

A case has been registered under the Arms Act at Madhuban Police Station.
