Lakshadweep/Kochi, May 20 -- The first phase of the Census of India 2027, covering House Listing and Housing Census operations, has been successfully completed in the union Territory of Lakshadweep within the timeline notified in the official UT Gazette.
The field operations for the initial phase were conducted from April 16 to May 15, 2026. The entire exercise in Lakshadweep was carried out digitally through a mobile application, marking a fully paperless data collection process.
