Pune, Feb. 21 -- A major fire broke out in a labour settlement near Rammanohar Lohia Garden in the Hadapsar area late last night, reducing 19 shanties and three two-wheelers to ashes.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the workers and their family members managed to escape in time.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 am in the temporary settlement located behind the garden along the Pune-Solapur Road. The fire reportedly started in one of the shanties and quickly spread to adjacent structures. As the huts were made of bamboo and tin sheets, the flames intensified rapidly, fuelled by household materials stored inside.
