Chennai, July 23 -- A Chennai Court on Thursday awarded one year jail term to popular Tamil film actor Vimal in connection with a Rs 4.5 crore cheque bounce case.
Vimal had borrowed Rs 4.5 crore from film financier Gopi for producing his movie "Mannar Vagaiyara". After its release, the financier attempted to recover the amount, but the cheques issued by the actor bounced due to insufficient funds.
