Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- In a major state-wide enforcement drive, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has intensified its crackdown on food safety violations, suspending licences of several establishments and seizing more than 4,138 kg of dairy products and sweets valued at Rs 15.58 lakh.
According to a press note issued here on Tuesday the action was undertaken as part of the FDA's festival-focused initiatives, "Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra" and "Sanna Maharashtracha, Sankalp Anna Surakshiteca", aimed at ensuring the safety and quality of food products during the festive season.
