Panchkula, Aug. 31 -- Haryana Police have arrested a man for allegedly strangling his 15-year-old daughter to death in Khairekan village of Sirsa district.

According to a Haryana Police spokesman, the accused, identified as Rakesh Nath, son of Shogar Nath, a resident of Nath Mohalla in Khairekan village, has been arrested following investigation into the case.

He was subsequently produced before a court and taken on one-day police remand for further questioning.

The case came to light after Kavita, wife of Rakesh Nath, approached the police on August 30 and lodged a complaint. According to her complaint, her husband was addicted to alcohol and frequently quarrelled with family members while under the influence of liquor.
