Nagpur, April 23 -- Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly killing a hotel owner who allegedly made an objectionable demand for a sexual favour, officials said on Thursday.
The accused, Navin Punjabrao Pundkar, an e-rickshaw driver, has been taken into custody.
According to police, the deceased, Rahul Sunil Shahu (38), had allegedly suggested a compromise involving the dignity of Pundkar's daughter in exchange for loan repayment.
Enraged by the demand and affront to his daughter's honour, the accused reportedly lost control and attacked the hotel owner multiple times with an iron rod, killing him on the spot.
The accused later attempted to dispose of the body near the Nara Ghat bridge to destroy evidence.
