Srinagar, Sept. 2 -- National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday alleged that the purported threats to Kashmiri Pandits were part of a "conspiracy" aimed at preventing Jammu and Kashmir from regaining statehood.
Talking to reporters in Anantnag, Abdullah questioned why senior government and police officials belonging to the Hindu community were not facing similar threats if the threats were specifically directed at Hindus.
"Kashmiri Pandits are not only living here. All the officers here are from outside who are Hindus. Your police-DIG, DG, district SPs-all are Hindus. DCs are Hindus. Why are they not under threat?" Abdullah said. "If the threat is coming to the Hindus, why are they not under threat?" he asked.
