Bengaluru, Sept. 4 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Friday sought to turn the demand for a farm-loan waiver into a political accountability test for the BJP, challenging its state leaders to join him in New Delhi and press the Centre for relief to farmers amid the drought situation.
Shivakumar urged BJP state president Vijayendra Yediyurappa and Leader of Opposition R Ashoka to accompany him to Delhi and raise the issue with the union government, questioning the Opposition's commitment to farmers if it was unwilling to take up the demand with the Centre.
