Chandrapur, June 19 -- A 52-year-old farmer was killed in a tiger attack while searching for his missing goat in a forest near Girgaon village in Nagbhid tehsil of Maharashtra's Chandrapur district, forest officials said on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Atmaram Dasru Borkar, a resident of Girgaon. He had taken his goats for grazing on Thursday and after returning home, realised that one goat was missing. He went back into the nearby forest in search of the animal but did not return home, officials said.
Concerned family members and villagers launched a search operation on Friday morning, during which Borkar's body was found inside the forest.
