Nagpur, July 31 -- : A 50-year-old farmer was killed after being hit by a train on the Chhindwara-Nagpur railway route in Maharashtra's Nagpur district on Friday evening, police said.
The incident occurred around 5.15 pm near railway pole No. 1362/4 at Khurjgaon under Kelwad police station limits in Saoner tehsil.
The deceased was identified as Mannulal Ramaji Uike (50), a resident of Khurjgaon and a farmer by profession.
According to preliminary information, Uike was hit by a train travelling from Chhindwara towards Nagpur and died on the spot.
On being informed about the incident, social worker Hitesh Bansod alerted the Kelwad police. Police Inspector Ashisingh Thakur and his team reached the spot and conducted a panchnama.
