Lucknow, March 9 -- A 45-year-old farmer was found hanging in suspicious circumstances in Bhadoi village under the Banthra police station area, police said on Monday.
The deceased, Jogendra Rawat, lived with his wife Sudevi, daughters Poonam (24) and Soumya (13), and son Aditya (15). His elder daughter, Ruby, is married.
According to police, the family had dinner together and went to sleep in separate rooms late Sunday night.
Jogendra was sleeping in the front room of the house, which reportedly had no door.
Around midnight, his daughter Poonam woke up and saw her father hanging from a ceiling fan with the help of a muffler. She immediately raised an alarm, after which family members and villagers gathered at the spot.
