Parwinder SandhuNew Delhi, March 9 -- A video of Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi claiming that India shared the precise location of the Iranian warship IRIS Dena with Israel before it was torpedoed by a US submarine as part of a new strategic deal, has been flagged as fake by authorities.
IRIS Dena, the Iranian frigate, was on its way after returning from Milan and International Fleet Review 2026, hosted by the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam, when it was struck by a torpedo fired from a US submarine in international waters off the coast of Sri Lanka. There were 130 personnel on the ship out of which 87 were reportedly dead and 30 rescued by the Sri Lankan Navy and Airforce.
