The world's most popular sporting event, featuring 48 of the top footballing nations, has failed to attract a buyer in India.

One can understand that India is not participating and that match timings may not suit Indian viewers.

However, the inability of a single corporate house, the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the government, or even the national broadcaster to take a decision is astonishing- especially when the country is willing to spend enormous sums hosting events of far less global significance, such as the Commonwealth Games. ...
