Agartala, July 8 -- Extensive monsoon rains continued to soak Tripura today with the highest rainfall at Chhamanu in Dhalai district recording 139.2 mm, followed by Ambassa at 110.6 mm, Lembuchhera at 105.5 mm, Gandacherra at 102.5 mm, and Agartala at 102 mm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) release said.
While the rainfall provided welcome relief from recent hot and humid conditions, it also heightened concerns about localised waterlogging and flash floods in low-lying areas, disruptions in traffic, and landslides in susceptible hilly areas. However, no severe damage or casualty reported so far.
