New Delhi, June 24 -- A national seminar on "Confronting Illicit Trade in Modern Markets" held here on Wednesday brought together policymakers, law enforcement officials, healthcare professionals, legal experts, and retail industry representatives to address the growing menace of counterfeit and illicit products across sectors including medicines, food items, cosmetics, electronics, and consumer goods.

The event, organised by the Federation of Retailers Association of India (FRAI), highlighted the severe risks posed by illicit trade to consumer safety, public health, businesses, and the national economy.
