Itanagar, June 4 -- A high-level gathering of scientists, engineers, government agencies and Indian Army representatives has charted a comprehensive roadmap to address the growing threat of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) in Arunachal Pradesh's Mago Chu Basin, a vulnerable Himalayan region influenced by the Khangri Glacier.
The two-day technical consultation held at Baisakhi, Dirang near Tawang's Sela Top, brought together experts from some of the country's leading scientific and research institutions to formulate coordinated, science-driven strategies for glacial hazard assessment, monitoring and mitigation.
