Shimla, June 10 -- The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) on Wednesday commended the Himachal Pradesh government's efforts towards the development of tribal areas and the welfare of tribal communities, while directing authorities to expedite the disposal of cases under the Forest Rights Act (FRA).
Chairing a review meeting with senior state government officials in Shimla, NCST Chairman Antar Singh Arya said Himachal Pradesh was performing well in the field of tribal development despite its difficult geographical conditions.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved in key sectors such as education, healthcare, road connectivity, electricity, and drinking water supply in tribal areas.
