New Delhi, Sept. 16 -- The Delhi Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved the construction of a 250-bed super speciality- cum- trauma block at the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital situated in Dilshad Garden, East Delhi.

The approximate cost of the project has been estimated to be around Rs 244.87 crore. The new block will be built within the existing GTB Hospital campus, eliminating the need to purchase additional land.

It will be constructed under Phase-IV of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the GTB Hospital is the only major government hospital in East Delhi, and continues to face a heavy patient load, and almost all the beds remain occupied.
