Bengaluru, June 3 -- Former Karnataka BJP MLC Dayananda Reddy was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by unidentified assailants near Anekal on the outskirts of Bengaluru and held captive for several hours before being released after the abductors reportedly demanded Rs 3 crore for his freedom, police said on Wednesday.

According to a complaint lodged by Reddy, the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday near Heelalige in Anekal taluk when he was leaving the Gold Coin Club, a facility reportedly owned by him.
