Hyderabad, Feb. 27 -- Former Chief Priest of the renowned Chilkur Balaji Temple, Soundararajan (90), passed away on Friday at his residence in Chilkur following prolonged illness, his family said.
His son and the present Chief Priest of the temple, Rangarajan, said Soundararajan had been suffering from age-related health issues for the past few years. He managed the famed shrine with discipline and devotion for decades and was widely respected for his spiritual leadership.
Apart from his priestly role, Soundararajan was also known for his academic contributions, having served as a professor and Registrar at Osmania University.
