Mumbai, April 2 -- A 51-year-old former Army personnel, Jayan Shivanandan Nair, was arrested on Thursday for a fatal shooting, killing one person and injuring two in the neighbouring Mumbra area of Thane, Maharashtra. According to the details, the incident occurred this morning at 11:30 AM near Kailash Nagar locality, in Mumbra Bypass area.

The accused allegedly opened fire on a group of men following a personal dispute that had reportedly been brewing for several days. The victims were identified as Akbar Abdul Shaikh (29), Abdul Hasan Shaikh (45), and Samir Ahmed Shaikh (32). All three were rushed to a private hospital, where Akbar Abdul Shaikh was pronounced dead upon arrival.
