Chennai, July 29 -- After apprehensions were raised by DMK President and former CM M K Stalin, who lost the recent Assembly elections from his stronghold of Kolathur in the city, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday commenced the week long exercise of verification of EVMs in the constituency, for its reliability.
The exercise was being carried out in 14 booths in the Kolathur constituency following complaints filed by Stalin to the ECI amid allegations of unrecorded votes in his favor. The checking and verification of EVMs began at a strong room in Chintadripet.
Stalin, who had won thrice in succession in 2011, 2016 and 2021 and eyeing for a record fourth successive term in from Kolathur, had lost the seat to TVK candidate ...
