Lucknow, Sept. 28 -- Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has backed BSP chief Mayawati's demand for restoring the ballot paper system, saying if developed coutries like the USA and Germany can hold elections through ballot papers "then why not us".
Countering the BJP's allegation that opposition parties always complain about EVMs whenever they lose an election, but remain quiet when they win elections, the SP chief said, "Even if we win all seats in any election still we will continue to demand for voting through ballot papers".
The former Chief Minister also claimed that change in the Election Commission or removal of the CEC can only be done "if we remove the BJP from power".
