Jaipur, Sept. 11 -- An estimated 70.01 per cent of 87,60,884 electorates exercised their franchise in 147 civic bodies, including 6 municipal corporations, in the second phase of the urban bodies elections in Rajasthan today, locking electoral fate of 18,266 contestants in EVMs.
Barring stray incidents of technical snags, fake polling and minor face-offs at many places in the state, the polling was by and large peaceful in 9,758 polling booths at 4,852 municipal wards spread over 41 districts of the state.
The highest 91.59 per cent turnout of voters was recorded in Dhorimanna Municipality of Balotra district while the least polling percentage of 57.02 pc was recorded in Municipal Corporation, a State Election Commission spokesman said he...
