Srinagar, Oct. 1 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against a Pulwama resident for allegedly using a forged letterhead and signature of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in an attempt to unlawfully influence the functioning of the police administration, officials said on Thursday.

The chargesheet in an FIR registered this year was filed before the Court of Sub-Judge, Srinagar, against Saqlain Mushtaq Dar a resident of Deeri, Pulwama.

According to the Crime Branch, Dar allegedly prepared a forged communication addressed to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, falsely portraying it as having been issued by the Lieutenant Governor.
