Bharat GhandatNashik, Oct. 6 -- An encroachment removal drive on the Niphad-Lasalgaon road in Vinchur has taken a serious turn after an elderly man allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison, reportedly following an altercation with officials during the action.
Ganesh Pandit Salunkhe has submitted a complaint seeking action against Public Works Department (PWD) Sub-Divisional Engineer Mayur Mohite and engineers Kadam and Shelke, alleging that they intimidated his family during the encroachment removal operation.
According to the complaint, Salunkhe has been running a salon business in Vinchur for the past 40 to 45 years to support his family.
