Hooghly, May 31 -- Chinsurah Police of this West Bengal district on Sunday arrested 11 TMC men, including former Trinamool MLA Asit Majumdar of Chunchura, in connection with the road blockade in protest against the attack on TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
Those arrested include Hooghly-Chunchura Municipality Mayor Soumitra Ghosh, Deputy Mayor Partha Saha, several councillors and other Trinamool leaders. The police have not yet officially announced the specific reason for the arrest.
