Mumbai, July 14 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has left for New Delhi on an urgent visit, amid speculation over an impending expansion of the union Cabinet ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The visit comes in the wake of the success of Shiv Sena's "Operation Tiger" political exercise.
According to political sources, the Shiv Sena led by Shinde is expected to secure two berths in the proposed Cabinet expansion, -- with one Cabinet Minister and one Minister of State likely to be accommodated.
Among the frontrunners are Shinde's son and MP Shrikant Shinde, MP Omraje Nimbalkar, who recently joined the Shinde faction from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, and MP Sanjay alias Bandu Jadhav.
