Mumbai, June 23 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA and former minister Aaditya Thackeray on Tuesday accused Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of avoiding questions related to departments under his charge during the ongoing monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislature.

Thackeray alleged that Shinde lacks adequate knowledge of his own portfolios and, therefore, asks other ministers to respond on his behalf. He said this was a new trend under the present government and claimed that during the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government, ministers never shirked responsibility for answering questions related to their departments.
