Karimnagar, July 22 -- Eight masked and armed miscreants allegedly looted around 66 tolas of gold, silver articles and Rs 21 lakh in cash after holding a family hostage during a midnight robbery near Bhagatnagar Crossroads in Karimnagar city, police said.
According to police, the incident occurred when the homeowner stepped outside to switch off the lights. The assailants reportedly overpowered him from behind, forced their way into the house, and threatened four family members, including elderly persons, at knifepoint and gunpoint. The victims were tied up for nearly one-and-a-half hours.
