Siliguri, May 28 -- Eid al-Adha was celebrated peacefully across Northern West Bengal, particularly in the Muslim-dominated belt of Malda district, under tight security arrangements on Thursday, with authorities ensuring smooth conduct of prayers and uninterrupted vehicular movement on major roads and highways.
The most significant congregation was witnessed at the Naymouza Eidgah ground in Sujapur under Kaliachak, regarded as one of the largest Eid congregation venues in West Bengal, where nearly 60,000 devotees offered prayers in a disciplined and orderly manner.
