Lucknow, Aug. 20 -- As special attention is being given to cleaning drains that discharge into rivers across the state, work is underway at multiple levels under the 'Namami Gange Programme' to free the Sai River in Lucknow from sewage pollution. The river flows near rural areas such as Sarojini Nagar and Mohanlalganj. To prevent pollution, drains discharging into the river are being identified and plans are being implemented to tap these drains, divert sewage to Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and reuse the treated water.
